1:48 pm: News from Newsday's Art Staple regarding Josh Bailey via Twitter:

Scott Gordon says Josh Bailey will accompany #Isles to Fla., but not likely to play Thursday vs. #Lightning. Same for Trent Hunter (foot).

No Trent Hunter, no Josh Bailey at #Isles practice.

Dwayne Roloson stole two points for the Toronto Maple Leafs. He plays well in Toronto, but this was just excellent. Perhaps that shamrock on the back of his new helmet is indeed really lucky.

The highlight reel will show Radek Martinek making some huge saves for Roloson, Doug Weight playing hard, Grabner using the rockets on his skates and Zenon Konopka winning a decision by default. Brown lost an edge and hit the ice. Fight over before it really began since Zenon is a very patient fighter that knows he needs to be in position. Trevor Gillies actually took a shot at the net. Read that again.

Roloson benefited from two goals that were waived off that kept the Leafs from getting on the board after Matt Moulson's goal. One was thought to have been hit with a high stick and the other almost goal was shown to have never crossed the goal line. Ron Wilson tried to argue that John Tavares had his hand over it, but the tape was conclusive. No goal. The argument stopped, play continued.

Of course, with a final penalty in the last few minutes, Phil Kessel tied it at 17:55 of the third on a power play while Andrew MacDonald sat in the box. As soon as Matt Moulson scored the first goal in the second period, I said that it would be Phil Kessel to tie it up. I just didn't think it would take him that long. But he couldn't score the game winner.

Nope. That belonged to John Tavares.

During the post game interviews, the guy with the game winner, JT, told reporters "It's a big win. It's great to be back." While he was trying to answer the media professionally, Blake Comeau was being a joker and balancing a bottle of something on his shoulder. Check the MSG Video. JT never flinched. He's that professional. Asked about the OT goal that won the game from a James Wisniewski pass, "I put my head down and shot it as hard as I could. I didn't see it go in. I just saw the guys celebrate."

Scott Gordon seemed tense surrounded by the large media contingent. Once again, he showed no emotion in his answers. You would have thought they lost.

"Obviously it's great to come in and get a road win. Especially playing against a team that's playing pretty well." Especially playing against his friend Ron Wilson's team that had won all their previous games.

Roloson got the nod in net because "Rolson had some good games here last year so we wanted to take advantage of that." Advantage? They're going to put a warrant out for his arrest after that heist.

Regarding JT Gordon said "John, having missed a couple of games, is frustrated. Getting that huge goal will boast his confidence." But Scott wasn't all complimentary of his team. "The other two Power Plays were awful." Uh oh. But then he thought of the big picture. "I'm real happy with the special teams. They came up big when they had to." Rob Carlin asked if it was a chemistry thing going on with this team who can come back even after losing Josh Bailey after the first period to a hip flexor injury. "It's just attitude... We really have set a standard in the lockeroom. The biggest thing is the guys are enthusiastic."

And there is that "Never Say Die attitude."

When Dwayne Roloson was asked in the locker room if it was something about the building that makes him play so well, he said "I don't think it's the building or anything else. It's just the focus on playing. We got a big road trip coming up here. We're going to be on the road a lot, so just to get over the hump and get a big win is important. Hopefully we can carry this over into our trip."

The Isles play Tampa on Thursday and Florida on Saturday. That should give Josh Bailey plenty of time to recover -- we hope.

Thanks God for thieves like Roloson!

Pretty sure I lost a year off my life during that one.
