Isles vs. Ducks in December

I should have actually written before, but after being here this morning, I had to get some work done before returning to the rink. Yeah, I know. I don't get to play blogger all day long.

Okay, 1st period almost over. Gillies and Brookbank got into and Trevor only came out with five for fighting. He he he... no game misconduct. What a surprise.

On the Isles first power play of the night, PA Parenteau scored to make it 1-0 with a helper from JT and then just a few ticks later, at even strength, Blake Comeau made it 2 - 0 on a pass from Jon Sim.

Hello Isles, two is not quite enough today. We need more.

Well, with 3:15 left of the first, #MightyMattMoulson makes it 3 - 0. And it's CHILI TIME at Wendy's tomorrow and another $500 for Islanders Children's Charity.

Well, something went horribly wrong as there was a scrum in front of the bench while I was trying to type and PA Parenteau and Perry got into a jersey pulling brawl in front of the bench. Corey Perry gets 4 minutes for roughing and PA gets 2 for roughing, so the Isles are back on the power play.

No fight, no misconduct call for the shirt coming off PA. Where's that strap PA?

And Hiller is back now in the net as McElhinney is chased from the net.

And another fight.

End of Second period and the Ducks have one back on a power play goal with Martinek in the box. Matt Martin is showing why fans loved him in Bridgeport. He's nothing but a high energy pin-ball that doesn't take any guff. Blake Comeau had a beautiful scoring chance but it rang off the crossbar.

How lucky can the Isles be tonight? Can they get through another twenty minutes of hockey without giving up another goal?
Let's be hopeful

Well, as I said this morning, Jason Blake would score on Rick DiPietro -- he did to make it 3 - 2 Islanders and pull the Ducks within one goal.

Brad Kurtzberg of InsideHockey.com insists the Isles will lose this one 4 - 3. I'm hoping he is wrong, but he certainly has a lot more experience in this than I do.

With Jesse Joensuu in the box with only 5 and change left in the third, Brad may be right.
