“Raising An Olympian” John Tavares

John Tavares has been one of Canada’s favorite sons for a long time. He has represented his country in two World Junior tournaments bringing home gold. Should all go well, Tavares may represent Canada in Sochi at the Winter Olympics. It’s an understatement to say Canada is proud of John Tavares. As Islander fans, so are we.
Proctor and Gamble is proud to announce their sponsorship of Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Team Hopefuls. Twelve Canadian athletes, including John Tavares, will be part of a “Thank You, Mom” campaign as the face of Gilliette.
Marcel Aubut, Canadian Olympic Committee President said “The sponsorship of Olympians and the recognition of the athletes’ moms with their successful ‘Thank You Mom’ campaign make us proud to again join forces with an organization that undeniably values our country’s sporting heroes.”
P&G won’t only be sponsoring the athletes, but also making sure Sochi is a little more homey for the athlete’s family during their stay.
You can check out the P&G website at www.pg.ca/moms or visit them on Facebook at P&G Everyday Canada. You never know when JT’s own “Thank You Mom” video will be available, but for us in the states, the only place to see it will be -- on line.
He’s the face of the Islanders franchise, and now the face of Gillette in Canada. Kid is having a year!
