Isles vs. Bruins: Back at the Barn!

3:39: Still 2 - 2 and the Bruins have 31 shots on goal while the Isles have only 16. But as lopsided as that sounds, so far that's half what Roli had to face in Toronto.

6:21: That could have been bad as Robbie had one hell of a bad turnover in his zone.

9:43: The Isles managed to kill off another penalty with the excellent saves of Dwayne Roloson. Now, I'm watching this and I'm telling you, they don't seem to crowd Roli's crease the way they do Biron's. Just interesting.

11:57 of the third:
oH CRAP. A beautiful save by Rolie on a breakaway but a penalty is called on Meyer and the Isles go right back on the PK. And I thought he was having such a good game.

Great block by Thompson but #26 comes right back into the Isles zone. Once again, Roloson is the best penalty killer on the Isles.

Start of the Third: Here we go!
All tied up at 2 and t his is anyone's game. Okay -- Who wants it more? SOG are now 15 - 15.

Oh crap, Bruno in the Box with a penalty and the Isles are back on the PK. Can they do it? Witt, Comeau, Meyer, and Nielsen. and Comeau gets the puck out of the zone.

Now Streit in and saves a goal on Rolie by sweeping the puck out of the crease. Park out there too now with Nate Thompson and MacDonald.

Okay, TV Time out. Can you tell I'm just typing without looking at the screen, because I actually have to stand up in order to see the game.

Nice plays by Okposo and Hunter to keep the puck out of the net. Like Scott Gordon keeps telling them in practice. Never give up on the play. Never. And Hunter pushed the puck over the blue line while laying on the ice. It was lovely.

Start of the second:
S
o, it's the start of the second period and Katie Strang tweets that Hillen is not on the bench and I get scared. He did try to return, but he has a foot injury is will not finish the game. Not more than a few minutes later, the Bruins are up 2 - 1 on a goal by Kreijci. Ugghhh!!!

Then Sim gets a penalty for I don't know what. (I could ask the NHL guys in front of me, but I won't) and the Isles have to kill off the power play. They do.

Then Bingo, Matt Moulson pots another one at 14:42 of the second to tie the game. That's Matt's 15th goal. He only needs five more before January 1! I know he can do it!! I knew it from the start!

YOU GO MATT!

I don't want to Jinx it, but Freddie Meyer is having a pretty good game! He even took a few seconds off the clock at the end there behind his own net before the teams headed back to the dressing room.

Okay, I didn't realize that was Robbie Schremp's first NHL goal. No wonder he jumped into Streit's arms like he was just coming home from war.

7 pm:

Yep, high atop the coliseum with a halfway decent crowd, the Islanders take on the Bruins and Robbie Schremp starts it off with a Power Play goal. Nice for Lucky #13.

11:55: Jack Hillen blocks a shot and limps off the ice and is being attended to. This is not good. He's one of our better defensemen.
8:59 left: Dennis Wideman takes a seat in the box and the Isles go on their second power play of the first period. Now, will someone other than JT score on this one? Uggh, Robbie takes the play offsides.
And then an icing I think, puck goes all the way back to the Isles end.
Is this a pwoer play or what?
Okposo gets stripped of the puck and luckily it hits streit's skate and Roli doesn't have to make a save.
Trent gives away the puck, and luckily the Bruins are offsides. Okay, maybe they can just be LUCKY tonight.

5:37: Their luck doesn't hold out as a puck just grazes over the top of Roli's shoulder to make it 1 - 1. I think I heard Roli say "s**t" from up here.

1:41, no goal, high stick. Roli is lucky again.
