Isles vs. Rangers 3/30/10

The last chance against the NY Rivals, here at the coliseum on a rainy Tuesday night. The crowd is somewhat thinner than I would have expected, but then they may still trying to get here as the roads have been pretty washed out today.

I left my small camera at my mother-in-law's so I'm using my old Olympus. Probably better shots, but heavy as can be.

Trevor Gillies on the starting line-up against the Rangers. and He just smashed Marc Staal against the boards. and then he was bumped by Anisimov as he headed to the bench. Well, good way to start.

Andrew MacDonald had his first shift in four weeks.

Rangers take a too many men penalty and Prospal goes to the box. "Brain Cramp" Billy said. The PP is 1 for 17 agains the Rangers this season. Curtesy of Howie Rose.

17:51 in, and Mark Streit starts the scoring off from the blue line as he blasts it past Lundqvist. It may have been tipped by Matt Moulson. We'll see.

According to Howie, Streit has more minutes on the PP than anyone else in the NHL. Qutie a stat for a player who had to play almost 34 minutes the last game.

And Roli makes a nice save. I forgot how good this camera actually is. I should use it more often.

Blake Comeau has had three good shots that have gone wide. But you can tell he can taste it. SOG are now 5 - 3 and they are keeping the rangers on their toes.

I think Gillies has had more ice time in the last two shifts than he has in his last two games.

Nielsen hits the side of the net. This may absolutely be a game where they fight to see who will score between Comeau and Frans.

And there is my answer as Blake Comeau gets his 13th of the season with the second goal of the game on the 9th shot that the Rangers goalie has faced.

Rolie freezes the puck as Streit is playing wihtout a stick. Good move on his part. Gives everyone a chance to regroup. Rolie makes another good save on something that could have gone right in. He swatted it away.

Oh, Prust is going to get called for a penalty and the Isles go on the power play. but first... the caveman cam. Althought this is very good I'm thinking it's a little like when they paraded around ALF. If they still had Hollywood Squares, he'd be the center square.

Kyle Okposo takes a penalty and they play 4 on 4 for almost a minute before the Rangers go on their own PP. And here we have another whistle. Okay then, Andy MacDonald goes to the box to keep Okposo company and Jokinen gets to join Prust in the box. My my. It's getting crowded down there. They were both holding penalties. And supposedly they are fair calls.
