Isles 6 - Rangers 2 - Double Chili

8:13 am Friday: Some post game notes & quotes at Hockeybuzz.com.

So late. Such a surprising game.

Okay, how about bullets and photos only for tonight.

Gaborik slams Frans Nielsen's head into the board and gets -- 4 minutes. 2 for boarding, 2 for roughing. McCabe got 2 for roughing as well in the same scrum along with Konopka and Martinek. They threw another 2 onto Z's penalty just for good measure. Frans played all of 5:47 tonight before heading to the quiet room and deemed not able to return.

The Islanders PK managed to kill off 5 power plays and 1:26 of a 2 man Ranger advantage. They were excellent. Everyone just stepped up.

There were as many fights as there were goals. Dubinsky fought Hillen, Konopka foughtPrust, Martin fought someone I think, but it's not on the sheet. Reese fought Fedotenko and Michael Haley fough Sean Avery when Avery really wanted Hamonic. Too bad.

Trevor Gillies was credited with a goal and a misconduct. He fought no one -- except maybe Don VanMassenhoven. He was kicked out of the face off circle at 19:46 of the third and sent off. John Tavares screamed at the zebras three times asking what he had done. I don't believe they answered.

Dough Weight auditioned behind the bench. By the end of the game, there were as many suits behind the bench as there were players in gear.

Matt Moulson scored his 31st goal. He has now caught up to Michael Grabner.

PA Parenteau scored his 19th. We have to will him to 20 on the season. It would be important to a lot of us.

Blake Comeau, Radek Martinek, Jesse Joensuu scored the other three goals on the night.

Along with Nielsen, Ty Wishart also left the game early. Is there anyone LEFT in Bridgeport?

Dylan Reese had 3 assists tonight. When they talk about the opportunity for the youngsters to step up, they are.

Okay, post game quotes tomorrow. It's midnight and I need sleep!
