Sound Tigers Game 2 Sat 4/18/09

9:20 pm: With 4 skaters aside as penalties are evened out, that was the second time I saw a puck go through Jack Hillen's legs. Kyle just made a beautiful move that shows why HE is with the big club but there was no one there for his rebound except a guy in black. Fiddle faddle.

9:10 PM: Once again the dreaded red light goes off behind Lawton as a puck just blows right past him to even the score up at 4 - 4. The SOG are still in the Tiger's favor, but now they have to start all over again. Who will be the hero to get that go ahead goal? Who?

9:05 pm: They have to make it interesting. It's now 4 - 3 Sound Tigers with 13:48 left of the 3rd. Come on guys! You gotta win this one!

8:39 pm: Chuck a Puck! You know... I really love the Bridgeport team. The things they do with the crowd, the work the Booster Club does, they really are a model AHL franchise. 8:36 pm: Also Drive for Five from NYIC stopped by to keep me company as I am all alone here since Gary went to sit with his lovely wife Claire.

Can I just mention that Jon Sim is taking a freakin’ beating in this game. Just saying.
Lee just shot so hard that if it HAD been on net, it would have gone through Curry

8:30 pm: Of all people, Okposo gets involved in a little pushing in shoving and the Penguins take a penalty. Hey!!! Leave Kyle alone! He has a plane to catch and a country to represent!

8:27 pm:
It’s still 3 - 2 with SOG at 19 - 12 in favor of the Sound Tigers. I met my friend Eric on the concourse along with some members of the NYIC group. The die-hards are being supportive! They told everyone they could move down from the upper bowl, and yet some people are staying there. I guess they have space issues.
I’m trying not to consume too much bandwidth because it’s not the usual Internet feed, so my phone is running non-stop and I can’t twitter. If I could I would tweet that the Tigers now have a 2 goal lead with a goal by Jesse Joensuu! And somehow, someone came along and ripped the line up page off my media packet while I was on the concourse. At least they didn’t steal my lap top.

7:44 pm:
A goal by #37 Iggulden makes it 3 - 2 as the SOG are now even at 7 -7.
Directly across from us is a group of boys that are shirtless. At least they are heading to the dressing room up 3 - 2 after the first. That’s a nice change.
Did I actually hear the idiot in front of me BOO when they announced there were girls out there playing hockey with the boys in between periods? Idiot

7:28 pm:
Way too much action in the Sound Tigers end on this penalty to Kyle as Lawton just keeps giving up rebound after rebound until finally… DING, the light goes on. But a nice rush up the other end ties it again at 2 as Kyle Okposo gets his first AHL playoff goal. Got that feeling Kyle? Now do it in a Team USA sweater please!

7 pm: And so it ends.

And once again, I'm a little on the annoyed at the turn out. I'm telling you, by not showing up for these games with these prices, you have sent a message to management that the price point doesn't matter to you. Therefore, do not expect to see prices like these again.

Reminder, The Tiger Track, written by Tom Liodice is live blogging from the main website for all those who can't see the game. The AHL.com website is also broadcasting this game, so you can watch it.

Me... I'm going to watch it from the top of 201 for the last time this season. I've got my camera, my laptop, my glass of wine. As Gary Harding just said, then all is right with the world. This is TRULY the last hockey game of the season to be played in Uniondale. We won't have another one until October.

I gotta tell ya, I love that sound tiger blow up thing they come out of. I want one here. Give me a big Sparky head that breathes fire!

19:30 of the first and we start the game with a goal…. Against! I’m starting to think Kyle might like that long plane ride tomorrow that he can sleep on.

Penalty on MacDonald for hooking was killed off and the Pens didn’t really get any shots on goal out of it. Meanwhile, there’s an Eric Cairns sighting behind the bench. Hey! Cairnsy! Have you seen my husband’s jersey?

And luckily the Sound Tigers strike back with a goal by #18 Haley and a penalty on Okposo just took the wind out of our sails.

Broadcast personnel spotting in the stands: CJ Papa and his son Kyle and Steve Mears (without a tie).

My Night with the Sound Tigers 4-17-09

For an exceptionally detailed game blog about last night's Sound Tiger game, please check The Tiger Track. Greg Logan, who was also there last night (THANK GOD!) has a few quotes from players and Capuano in today's Newsday.

I, however, will go the route I know best; my night in the stands.

It was nice to be there with a group again. Who could have passed it up with the Group Loop tickets at only $15 each. (Obviously far too many of you, but I've already gone there!) This is the same group that has accompanied me to other hockey games these last few years and we always have a great time no matter what happens on the ice. It was the same last night.

The Sound Tigers entered the ice through their signature blow up tiger head and a rink full of smoke. The kids loved that, but the smoke didn't dissipate that quickly and the first period started in a fog.

There were so many names on the ice that we had see on the Islanders bench this season, but there were some that were probably new to this arena. During the first period, I don't know if the ice wasn't set or if they teams were just over zealous because so many of them were sprawled on it during the first period.

It actually looked like some of the concession prices were rolled back a little, more in line with the prices in Bridgeport. I actually got those Cinna-nuts, whose scent has driven me crazy for the entire season, for $4. (Wine was still $7, but I only had one.) The sad part was that they closed a good 40% of the concessions, so the lines in between periods were horrendous. It took me over 20 minutes just to get two cups of coffee (that was only tepid).

While on line though, I did get to speak to the woman who won the auction for Joel Rechlicz's jersey. I couldn't miss her -- she was wearing it along with a huge smile on that very sweet face. We chatted on line. She said she had seen Joel on the concourse and he was surprised and grateful she was wearing it. She said "Why WOULDN'T I wear it!"

I resisted the temptation to bargain with her for it considering I didn't have enough money in my wallet.

My mother-in-law, my side-kick Wendy and I did bump into the Sound Tigers who were relegated to the press box out on the concourse. You couldn't miss them. Mitch Fritz towered high above everyone else crowding the walkways as Rechlicz followed behind him. Of course I had to stop him to say hello and promptly dropped my phone, fumbling like the idiot I am. Wendy would have taken a photo of us, but once the enforcers stopped for a moment, they were surrounded by fans all looking to also say hello.

As nice as it is to see these guys dressed in suits, the majority of the fans truly want to see them on the ice. Seriously, at least ONE of them should have been on the bench Jack.

Islesblogger.com Mike and IslesOfficial Doug were making the rounds and stopped by. None of us were in the Blog Box last night. It looks very sad when it's empty.

Arena Hostess Dina stopped by to chat because she had some extra time with Sound Tigers announcer Dave taking a good chunk of the in arena duties giving the game the same feel as if it were at Harbor Yard.

Dina was sporting yet another amazing pair of shoes that I will have to locate for myself. I know it's blurry, but you get the drift. Oh who am I kidding, you don't want to see her shoes. You want to see her. Okay, here.

She did look adorable in her Sound Tigers KIDS jersey. I'll say this, Dina shared my dismay at the sparse crowd when tickets were so reasonable just as she shares my love of the game.... and shoes.

Okay, now here's the funny part. As the game ended, I decided to try to head down for the post game interviews. I threw my keys at my friends and told them to wait for me at my car.

I was happy to see Greg Logan in the hallway and stood with him for a few minutes along with a group of well dressed Sound Tiger boys that were along for the ride.

It seems things run different in the AHL. The players are interviewed first and then the coach makes his comments to the press. I was given that warning, but it didn't register with me. I knew I couldn't stay long anyway since I was the chauffeur and my passengers were already outside waiting.

I went into the locker room when instructed. Much to my surprise (and dismay) the entire roster was sitting there in the stalls removing their equipment. I followed Greg since none of my Blog Box buddies were there. (They left early for their own hockey game.)

I was hoping that Tom Liodice would be there, but nope. So as 20 men in various stages of undress looked at me wondering who the hell I was, an odd wave of panic came over me. Even Jon Sim, who has seen me for two years, gave me a puzzled look as I hightailed it out of the locker room and back into the hallway.

I waited against the wall, hoping they would say that Jack Capuano would be speaking somewhere... anywhere! I grumbled at the floor, "Where's Tom? Where's Tom!"

I looked up and Jack was walking briskly through the hall with a rather disgusted look on his face. I turned off my recorder and put on my jacket. That one look said all I had to hear. The officiating was horrible, the game was disappointing, and the goal that almost was didn't sit well with anyone.

Tonight is an opportunity to even it up and start over again. The Sound Tigers would love to get passed this first round and move on. I would love to be a witness.

Thank you to my friends and family for coming with me last night.
Thank you to my husband for putting up with me this entire season and for actually attending a game with me. It is nice to have you around the Coliseum with me, even if we don't agree on what's happening on the ice. Please don't be angry that I'm going to extend my season one more night and go to the game tonight too.
Good Luck to Kyle Okposo. Don't you dare get hurt out there! You have a plane to Switzerland to catch on Sunday and an exhibition game on TUESDAY!
And lastly... Anyone have a clue what the heck THIS is?
55 SCREAM? Was that for Pascal Morency or a Jason Blake throwback? I'm confused!

Dear Islanders Fans: I have a bone to pick with you!

WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU????

Okay, I'm seriously angry! You complain that hockey on Long Island is too expensive, that we can't take a family out to enjoy a game without it costing a car payment. The Islanders give you a game with a ton of names you have already seen, including one of our budding stars for $15 per ticket and where are you?

Uh HELLO? Less than 5,000 patrons on a Friday night with the game starting at 7:30 pm? $29 for glass seats and $19 for 200s. Are you KIDDING me?

What? You stayed home to watch the Mets? They have how many more baseball games to play??? We had TWO hockey games in our home arena in April and you couldn't come out?

I'm so disappointed in you I could scream. THIS is why the Canadian media thinks that Islanders fans are as mythical as Unicorns.

I've spent more at Burger King for lunch for me and my daughter than the $15 ticket I bought tonight for 15 of my friends.

Show up tomorrow people. I'm counting on you.

I'll talk about what happened at the game tonight when I get up. Right now, if I try to, I'll only get annoyed. Probably about as annoyed as I saw Jack Capuano in the hallway.

Sound Tigers Playoff Hockey

Well fans, we have playoff hockey at the Coliseum tonight and tomorrow night. The jerseys may be a little different, but the names on the back are very familiar. Jack Capuano's team managed to garner a record high 106 points this season when many nights he didn't even know who would be in his line-up. The injuries on the Islanders roster meant constant shuffling of the Sound Tigers. But they prevailed.

Now they are starting their quest for the Calder Cup and begin their journey against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (who had a mention in last night's The Office episode.)

The Sound Tigers are not only a great team, they have a great booster club. I've never seen such a dedicated group that does so much for their community. Come out and support them and their team, our team. Ticket prices are low and it's going to be a great weekend of hockey.

IF you can't make it to the game, since it's not going to be televised, be sure to check out Tom Liodice's The Tiger Track Live Blog right on the main page of the Islanders website. There is also an AHL site that can keep you up to date on all the AHL Calder Cup action.

Wouldn't it be nice to give Kyle Okposo a game winning goal as a 21st Birthday present? I think so.

And for notes and quotes about the Sound tigers and their quest, follow their own beatwriter for the CT Post here.

Gratuitous Baseball Notes: The new Yankee Stadium opened yesterday and those who were there for the event were treated to a 9 runs against inning that caused a 10 - 2 Yankee DEFICIT. OUCH!!! But, it's April so there's plenty of time to forget it. Especially when there are 179 more Yankee games to be played. (kill me)

The Difference between Baseball and Hockey: For those with an extra $90, stop by the Roosevelt Field mall from 5 - 6:30pm at Steiner Sports and get an autograph from Yankee pitcher Joba Chamberlain. Hmmm... Funny. The Islanders do player signings all the time at their Team stores and I don't remember seeing a $90 charge for it... do you? Guess Joba is still paying for that DWI.

"Don't Mess This Up Garth" - From Brian

As you know, Farmindale College was this season's sponsor of the Blog Box project. If you have not checked out Brian's work, at least read this one.

Then bookmark his page.

Just a Thought....

Congratulations to all the TWEETS that made the 1st NHLTWEETUP a success across North America last night.
@dani3boyz and @Katrina_Doell sporting the #Isles colors #NHL... on TwitpicThe NY Tweet Up took place at the NHL store itself with none other than the Stanley Cup in attendance. Social networking has been taken to new heights and I'm sure the NHL is hoping it can help increase their fan base as well.

Brian Burke still scares the crap out of me. I've had conversations for 24 hours regarding Burke's grand statement that he'll do whatever it takes to move up in the draft. Everyone assures me that he doesn't have the assets on "The Islanders North" (or you may know them as the Maple Leafs) to do so. I say, he's a shrewd man that can find a way to pull a rabbit out of a hat or just make an offer you can't refuse. It's going to be a nervous time before June 27th when it's all decided.

Jason Blake will be the oldest skater on the Team USA roster for the IIHF World Championship. At 35 he's still younger than the last time Chris Chelios skated for the Team. It's an honor and a privilege and I'm happy for him. I'm happy for me too since it makes that $185 investment in that Team USA jersey still a sound one.

Opening Day for the House that George Built: WTF? Why is the game at 1:05 pm and the opening ceremony at Noon? It's a work day, it's a school day! They couldn't time this any better?

Oh, and my Yankee fan husband would like the media to know that he is angry with all of you for doing nothing but promoting the increased cost of tickets and how they are "squeezing the average fan out." Please be advised that those on the Yankees email list received notice of THIRTY games offering tickets at $5 each. Yes, that's FIVE dollars each. Half the price of one of those Martinis you can now get at Yankee Stadium.

Sound Tiger Playoffs at the Coliseum: Great news yesterday as our own Tiger Track Tom Liodice will have a LIVE BLOG for the Sound Tiger playoffs running on the Islanders main website! I love Live Blogs because it's faster than message boards with quicker interaction. They make you feel like you're watching a game with ALL your friends. Don't forget to check it out on both Friday night at 7:30 pm and Saturday night at 7 pm.

Good Luck Jack Capuano and all the Islanders, uh, Sound Tigers!

How an Interview can go HORRIBLY wrong....

I won't belabor the point that I thought this interview would have been far better had the interviewer been SILENT. I'm sure you've heard it by now. Hell, I think everyone from NY to Toronto has heard it since I ended up hearing snipets of it on 640AM Toronto late this afternoon.
They tell me Carton was trying to be "edgy." I think he was being a disrespectful jerk. But that's just me.
I would like to just simply address something that I've noticed on a lot of the message boards and the other stations. Yes, Charles Wang did say if he had to do it all over again, he wouldn't. This doesn't mean that he doesn't love hockey or that he doesn't care about the team.
Let me put it in perspective for you. If someone asked me if I would marry my husband of 17 years again, I would also say "NO!" Does that mean I don't love him? Does that mean I will leave him and move to Kansas City? Does that mean I will throw my hands up and walk away? Hardly.
Nothing worthwhile is ever easy. But it's not something you'd want to have to do over again. Maybe I would take a different path.
Okay, about him saying the Coliseum is a "dump" hours after hearing Garth Snow say the same thing in an interview, which seem to have rattled the Toronto media. But Bill Waters stopped the conversation with the truth. "It is a dump." And we deserve better.

MY EARS ARE BLEEDING!!!

If you caught this mornings segment on WFAN with Charles Wang, then you'll know why. While Mr. Wang was answering questions honesty and humorously, he was being verbally heckled by the host NOT named Boomer.

I now know why I don't listen to WFAN and opt for Canadian Sports radio instead. I will post the link when it's available so you can draw your own conclusion.

However, I'd like to know if you would take offence to the following statement made towards Mr. Wang when the host mentioned that Mr. Wang has a mathematics degree.

"You can count cards, you son of a bitch. Can I give you $5,000 ...."

I screamed so loud in my head, I didn't hear the rest of the sentence.

I'll have the rest of my take on his segment later tonight. This just annoyed me so much I had to share.

WE'RE (pick) #1! WE'RE (pick) #1

The 48% chance was enough to win the prize at the bottom of the Cracker Jack box that came with being the worst team in the league this season. The number one draft pick on June 26th belongs to us. "The reward is we will get a great player no doubt about it. Obviously it doesn't wholly disguise the fact that coming in 30th is unacceptable.”

We haven't had the number one pick since 2000 when Rick DiPietro was first smiling kid to the podium. That seems like a lifetime ago.Garth Snow was not at the NHL offices, but sent good luck charm Ken Morrow and Joann Holewa. It worked. "We had a lot of good karma going. In all seriousness, it was a great moment for this organization and franchise and a great moment for our fans." Garth said in a voice far more raspy than usual.

Although Garth would not give up the name of his choice, no matter how many times the reporters asked in various incarnations of the same question, he reiterated what I already knew, “Obviously, you're looking for a fit not only in the system but in our locker room. We have a strong group right now in our room. We have a lot of younger players who took huge strides in the right direction this year. It's something that we put a lot of thought into how the next piece of the puzzle is going to fit.”

The truth is he really can’t go wrong if he sticks with the number one draft pick."We're going to have a great player to go along with the core of young players already with the Islanders. We have some good prospects in Bridgeport. We set a franchise record for points in the AHL. We have a great group of prospects in our system. Things are going in the right direction and there's a lot of excitement about our young players. Like I said, it's a great day for this organization."

“There are a lot of good things happening for this organization. It’s an exciting time to be an Islanders fan or a NY Islander." It has had it's moments.

The very well produced NHL production had live interviews with both John Tavares and Victor Hedman. Both boys were very polite and very positive after hearing the NY Islanders had won the prize. Garth was asked how he felt about their positive reaction to potentially being a NY Islander. "As well they should! Long island is a place I’ve been since 2001 and it's a great place to live. It's a place for me where you have the best of all worlds. You have the beaches of Long Island (has he figured out there‘s a SOUTH shore yet?), the best golf courses in the world (that‘s a bit much), the fans are probably the most passionate fans of any place I've ever played. (Okay, I’ll give him that.) It's the greatest hockey environment when we're in a situation where we're winning. We have the most loyal and die-hard fans that show up when things aren't going so well. It's a market for me, and I've played in a bunch of them, that's second to none."

That we are. No matter how much the media wants to say we don't exist, no matter how often we hear that Long Island doesn't deserve a franchise, at least Garth Snow knows that's not true. He continued, “They're great kids and when we go through the process of meeting them, not only in the combine but bringing them to long Island, for me, it will be a fun part of the process."

That will be the fun that leads up to the big day. One fateful night in June when we finally find out which youngster will be our newest hope for the future.

Until then, we will wait and hope that Brian Burke doesn’t come up with some sort of scheme to get six General Managers to each give up something the other wants in order to get that coveted number one pick. It’s Brian Burke; he’s capable of just about anything.

Don’t forget tomorrow’s WFAN interview with Charles Wang at 9 am. And I hope you filed your taxes.

LIGHTHOUSE LI WATCH & LOTTERY AFTERMATH 4/15/09

For all those looking to find out what the owner of the NY Islanders has to say, tune in tomorrow at around 9 am to WFAN radio on your dial or on the web as Charles Wang will be the morning guest on the Boomer and Carton show.

I'm sure he'll cover not only our Lottery luck but also the current Lighthouse project developments. Be sure to tune in and hear it directly from the source!

(Oh! And it's TAX DAY in the US of A, just in case you forgot!)

Legislator Dave Denenberg's Memorandum of Support

The Lighthouse Project, it's about the economy people!!

Oh, the heck with it! I’m not a journalist, I never pretended to be. I’m a blogger, which basically means I’m a fan with a podium. However, I’m also a tax payer, a voter and a Long Islander that is worried about making my bills.

I stood in the rain with more than 100 other Long Islanders worried about the same thing.

I would love to sit here and spend my time writing a thought provoking article for you, but why bother. The truth of the matter is that the reading public is being misled by the media. Sure, I hear that journalists have to present both sides of an argument in an effort to be fair. However, what I’m seeing on the fight for the Lighthouse Project is far from fair. No one is painting the entire picture and I’m a little concerned that our Long Island media outlets, News 12 and Newsday are both owned by Cablevision, the owners of MSG, MSG Plus and the NY Rangers. Should I be surprised at how this situation is being handled?

Did either media outlet mention the representatives of the NAACP as being in attendance or speaking? Did they receive any quotes from the other elected officials? Did they ask questions to bystanders who were NOT in Islanders jerseys? The answer to those questions is the same. No.

The people that gathered and that signed that giant Memorandum of Support were there to fight for their economic lives. This is not about Hockey on Long Island. This is about the ability to LIVE on Long Island and in order to do that we need jobs. While ToH Supervisor Kate Murray will have you believe this is simply a “Pep Rally” to keep the Islanders she is ignoring the bigger picture. While the official statements are about maintaining the suburban tranquility and requesting federal stimulus funds that are not applicable in this case, there are people standing on the unemployment line. How about those homeowners having problems paying their property taxes.

How about when those “real media reporters” decide to talk to the people at these gatherings, they ask them MORE than “Are you worried the Islanders will leave Long Island?” Perhaps one of them should have spoken to one of the most visible fan faces in the Islanders army. He’s at every game with his beautiful young daughter and his home made signs. They were there in the rain on Saturday too to lend their support not just for the team, but for the Lighthouse Project.

“I don’t know what I’m going to do, Dee. I have a small landscaping business. I’m feeling it too. I’ve had to lay people off. I’ve got kids to support. We need jobs here.” So while everyone who doesn’t speak to him may think that he’s only lending his support to his team, he is not. He is worried about the future for his children.

Who will bring technology and industry to this little dot of geography if two prominent Long Islanders are not allowed to fund it themselves? Who will invest in our future if this doesn’t go through? No one.

News 12 mentioned a survey done that garnered a 27% response AGAINST the Lighthouse Project. Thank you for the statement. Where are the rest of the figures? Tell me what percentage didn’t care or what percentage was FOR the project. Better yet, tell me who the heck was polled. Give me the actual demographics of your survey so that I can have an accurate view of the poll rather than telling me “Look how many responded AGAINST the project.”

Maybe you should also tell me the unemployment rate for the Town Of Hempstead and then state how many jobs would be generated. Or how about mentioning the County tax revenue that will be gained from the project being built or lost should the major tenant leave.

Can someone please tell me why the entire picture is not being presented to the general public of Long Island? Why is this politics as usual?

I’m surprised that the NAACP had representatives standing in the pouring rain, and no media outlet picked up on it. They were there to support the potential jobs the project will bring to the community which will improve the economic situations of so many. They were NOT there to throw their support behind a 30th place hockey team. How did the reporters miss them? They had caps with “NAACP” right on them taking photos with the elected officials, labor leaders and the Islanders two biggest fans.

“We have to do what we can to keep Long Islanders on Long Island.” said one of the officials.

“If you build it, Long Island will thrive. It’s all about new suburbia.” The Town of Hempstead isn't looking forward, they are only looking back.

This is MORE than keeping a hockey team. This is about saving our economic future. So Journalists, if you’re going to cover this fight, please give the readers ALL the facts when you report.

And So It Ends

Another Easter Sunday Islanders game to close out the end of a Hockey season that started with excitement and hope. It wasn't the Easter Epic of '07 that caused Islesblogger.com to get Islanders plates for his truck. It wasn't even a spoiler of a game as I believe the '08 game may have been. No, yesterday's game was basically pointless for more reasons than I want to count. So pointless that my Easter guests were changing my TV back and forth to the Ranger game.

Sigh, and I let them. A team with so many injuries and so many youngsters had little hope of doing anything but put up a good effort this season. This weekend the line up didn't even do that. They were just run over for 48 hours and it was hard to watch. I can't imagine this was part of Scott Gordon's plan to end the season.

IslandersPointBlank mentioned that the Islanders didn't "roughhouse" on Saturday which disappointed many of the fans. There were no battles against the glass on Sunday either. Even I was disappointed at this as I really would have loved to hear chants of "Recker! Recker!" one more time before the season ended. One last time to watch big #40, Joel Recklicz, show the opponent that the Islanders were not going to be taken lightly no matter where they were in the standings was all I wanted.

I also wanted another goal out of Sean Bergenheim. I didn't get that either. But at least I witnessed one the day before and certified good guy Doug Weight did add to his yearly total.

Yes, this season is over. On Saturday night the mood in the locker room was one of looking toward the future. Perhaps they had started looking too soon and forgot about the game they still needed to play. I'm not sure.

However, even as dismal as this season was, there were still bright spots here and there. I'm sure I will replay them in my mind and well as here from time to time during the incredible "off season" that begins for me this morning. Oh, sure there is Tuesday's lottery drawing, the draft, rookie camp and any other surprise press conference the Islanders wish to throw at us this summer as well as the "where's DiPietro" watch that has started to run rampant. (Hmmmm... OTB wanted to get into Sports betting on Long Island, maybe they'll start running odds on whether or not Ricky will play next year.)

But there are other things that I will need to explore in the next 24 hours. Most importantly the coverage that the media outlets gave Saturday morning's rain soaked press conference outside the coliseum. I am livid at the segment that News 12 aired as well as the brief article that appeared in Newsday on Sunday morning. Please check back for the TRUTH about that gathering. There is so much more to it than was presented to the public.
